Tips and Ideas

I really like trying out new tips and ideas that I find, and below are
some that I found recently. Does anyone have a favorite tip or
idea that they would like to share? I would love to hear from you!

Never cut lettuce with a metal blade-it will turn the edges brown-
use a plastic knife or tear the lettuce leaves off the head.

To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a
pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling

Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the
freezer for at least 2 hours prior to burning.

To keep potatoes from budding, place
an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

I didn't know about this until a friend told me, but there are special baking soda things you can get that are small and have a suction cup taht will stick to the inside of your freezer or fridge and it comes with a sticker that tells you when it needs to be replaced :) They are great! You can get them for about $2 at Walmart!

Those sound very usefull! I have one: If you don't want your spagetti noodles to stick together put a teaspoon of butter in the water before you cook them. Works pretty good!

Thank you for commenting on my blog!

My useful tip is to microwave garlic for 15 seconds to remove the skin. It makes it SO easy.

Thanks for the tips - I didn't know that adding salt to the water before boiling eggs prevented cracking.
